Living Insurance
Living Insurance is an insurance policy which will provide you lump sum payment if you suffer a qualified major health trauma or condition.
It can provide financial stability when it is needed most. Living insurance is also sometimes called Trauma or Critical Care cover and provides a one off cash payment if you are diagnosed with one of many specified illness or injuries (including cancer and heart attack).
What it does is helps to provide financial assistance so you can focus on rehabilitation and recovery without the worry of such things as where the mortgage payments will come from. It helps to protect your quality of life. You receive a lump sum payment to spend exactly as you need. You could spend it on things like:
- A house with easier access;
- Investing for an income;
- Repaying the mortgage;
- A holiday to recover;
- Medical expenses;
- Private hospital care.
The big questions are always "How much do we need?" and "How much will it cost?"
This depends on your personal financial circumstances. If you would like to discuss what you would need or what you currently have in place , simply click here to e-mail us or call (0800) 10 22 64 and ask to be put in touch with an Advice Financial adviser in your area.
The other big fallacy is "IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ME"
- 24.3% of cancer-related deaths in 2003 were between the ages of 45 and 64 [1]
- Though New Zealand's overall cancer death rate is decreasing over time, the raw number of deaths from cancer increased from 7800 in 2002 to 7932 in 2003 [1]
- Deaths from heart disease decreased slightly from 6287 in 2002 to 6196 in 2003 [1]
- 2 of 5 males will suffer a critical illness between age 30 and 64 [2]
- 1 of 4 females will suffer a critical illness between age 30 and 64 [2]
- 57% of heart attack patients will be alive 1 year later [3]
- 50% of cancer patients will be alive 3 years later [4]
