Financial Risk Management

Protection for the familyThe crucial part of risk management planning is to create as much certainty as possible for continuity of family life and lifestyle. It becomes necessary to look at each part of your life and decide how the roles would continue.

We all like to think that we are invincible, but the reality is we are not. Accidents happen and as we age our chances of becoming seriously disabled also increase.

Throughout our lives we may face relatively minor medical emergencies from which we will fully recover. But, at some stage we cross over the line, and experience an illness or disability from which we will not fully recover. However we can predict and plan for this eventuality so that, with our families, we can still enjoy the best quality of life possible and still achieve our financial goals.

If one does not have sufficient assets to ensure this income stream these goals are generally achieved by using insurance as a short to medium term risk management strategy until you have built up sufficient assets to ensure that income stream. The questions that need to be asked are things such as:

  • If this happened to us how would we cope financially?
  • How would we want to be placed financially?
  • What would we want to happen?
  • What would we need to future proof our family goals, objectives and dreams?

Then we need to assess in our own minds the importance of ensuring we have a plan to cope with the event if it was to occur.

As you take on more responsibility, the need for complete financial protection increases. A comprehensive Risk Management Programme protects your changing lifestyle and provides peace of mind. A number of events can preclude the achievement of your financial objectives – death, disability, a major hospitalisation, or a serious health condition.

A well designed Risk Management Programme minimises the economic consequences of these risks by effectively providing a “safety net” for your family and yourself which should take into account suitable strategies to protect against all of the above events and is the key to maintaining your lifestyle.

We are here to help. If you would like us to review your Risk Management plan and advise you on what is the most appropriate for you and or your family simply click here to contacts us by email.
